Preston Calvert Raises Money For Charity By Providing Two-Seat Porsche GT3 Cup Rides In Las Vegas

The North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS) Race Car Fundraiser was executed by Preston Calvert and the Competition Motorsports team in Las Vegas on March 18th, 2019. Overall, about 45 physicians who practice neuro-ophthalmology donated to the event and received rides from Preston Calvert and Competition Motorsports Team Owner and Race Car Driver, Bob Faieta. Each rider was provided with a personal onboard video of their experience riding in the latest Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 991.2 Race Car. The total raised for charitable work was over $5000. The event was widely praised by the participants for its tight organization and professionalism, as well as the great “bucket list” thrills it provided to so many who were completely new to track driving. It was described widely as the best excursion/activity that has ever been offered at the National Specialty Meeting for NANOS.

“The idea is to give interested NANOS members a chance to experience the exciting visual, vestibular, and auditory inputs that are part of driving in a proper race car on the track.  We will only go as fast as [one feels] comfortable, but up to near racing speeds if desired, while demonstrating the differences between driving a street car …  from how a race car is driven.  I can guarantee you it will be safe and fun. The cost of the event is $75 for one lap, $125 for two laps, and $175 for 3 laps. ALL PROCEEDS will go directly to NANOS as a charitable donation…” Preston Calvert describes.
