Championship Intentions for Competition Motorsports at Road Atlanta

Tujunga, Calif. – After a long season of hard work and a podium streak that extends to the very first race weekend of the season, Competition Motorsports arrives at Road Atlanta for the final two races of the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA presented by Yokohama prepared to reap the rewards of their hard work.

The team returns to a four-driver lineup for the last two races, with four championships on the line, including a Platinum Class team championship, as they head to the green flag just two points behind.
Blair Chang returns in his No. 09 The Agency / Competition Motorsports Porsche 911 after two solid outings at Circuit of the Americas just two weeks ago. He now looks to end the season strong in his debut at the beloved track.

Michael Lewis arrives in Atlanta ready to get down to business in his No. 98 Competition Motorsports/Curb-Agajanian Porsche 911 as he sits just one point out of the Platinum Class championship title heading into Race 1.

Similarly, in Gold Class, Fred Poordad steps onto the Road Atlanta clay with a five-point advantage in the championship hunt and is ready to defend that title in his No. 02 Affinity Motorsports/TLI /Competition Motorsports Porsche 911.

David Calvert-Jones has also positioned himself nicely after a successful debut season and heads into the final races in second position in Platinum Masters class competition. He’ll once again be a busy driver on the weekend as he will also be competing in Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge on Friday afternoon, giving him a two-race Friday.

The four Competition Motorsports drivers are prepared to leave it all out on the tight, 2.54-mile circuit during the final two 45-minute sprint races. It will be a quick season finale for the entire team as they have just two practices ahead of qualifying early Friday at 8:35 AM (ET). Race 1 will go green on Friday at 1:40 PM (ET) while the final race of the season will go green on Saturday at 11:35 AM (ET).
