Tujunga, CA – October 24-25. Fred Poordad officially sealed his first Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy, USA championship at the conclusion of the Sonoma finale weekend in Northern California’s “Wine Country.” After a strong run all year, Poordad earned 232 points to win the championship. In second place, Michael Zuieback capped off an incredible year, scoring 193 points, driving very well during the last few races of the season to give Fred Poordad a run for the championship. In third place, the final podium spot for the championship standings, Steve Goldman earned 132 points and ended up winning in his final showing of the season, in Sonoma. In fourth place, to lock-out the first four championship positions for Competition Motorsports, Mike Mc Alister finished with 122 points. Though Alessandro Chiocchetti was not competing in the final race at Sonoma, Alessandro finished a strong P6 in the championship, earning 109 points. Overall, it was a fun weekend of racing, filled with fair competition. At the end of the day, the battle for both overall wins and for the overall championship title, were between the Competition Motorsports drivers. It was Fred Poordad claiming the overall Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA championship for Bob Faieta’s Tujunga, CA based team. This is Fred’s first overall championship title. On the incredible results for the team, Bob Faieta comments, “Thank you to our crew, to our drivers, and to all of our competitors at each race event. Thank you as well to all of our friends and fans who attended and helped us at each race. Congratulations to Fred on earning his first championship.
